Samsung Galaxy Watch 2 poised to be Apple Watch killer
It is that time of the year when Samsung Galaxy Watch rumours have started to surface and this time the smartwatch in question is the successor to the brand’s highly successful wearable. The Samsung Galaxy Watch 2 is expected to launch in the latter half of the year and last week, SamMobile had shared the codename of the highly anticipated smartwatch.
The Galaxy Watch 2’s codename, Renaissance reveals some key features. The codename is fitting since the Galaxy Note 10’s codename is said to be Da Vinci.
A related report by T3 states, “Renaissance was also a period of rebirth, revival and enlightenment, which suggests a big update could be coming to Samsung's flagship smartwatch, rather than a simple spec bump and software update.”
As of now, there is no word on what this device looks like as there have been no leaked images or mocked-up renders of the same. The brand’s most recent smartwatch, the Galaxy Watch Active was a major change from the first Galaxy Watch as it bore a futuristic design and bezel-less display. Samsung could use this design on its upcoming flagship smartwatch and reinvent it the way only Samsung knows how to.
It shouldn’t be that long to find out more about this upcoming device as the Galaxy Watch 2 is expected to be announced alongside the Samsung Galaxy Note 10. Whatever the case may be, this watch is poised to be an Apple Watch killer.
