Innovation, the Vinci way!
Last week, Logitech decided to commemorate Leonardo Da Vinci's 500th death anniversary by dedicating a day to disruptive innovation. Incidentally, April 21st is regarded the world over as International Creativity and Innovation Day. Stemming from the philosophy that creativity, in the current era, has moved beyond canvas and papers, onto our workspaces and machines, Logitech reaffirmed its commitment to creating innovative but affordable products.
While it is hard to imagine why a peripherals brand would require innovation, especially since most of the brand's products have a singular objective, Logitech has been trying to innovate and add cool functionalities to even the humble desktop mouse.
An ideal testament to this is its latest product, the MX Master 2S, which the brand is using as the flagship trophy for innovation and creativity. With MX Master 2S, Logitech takes a huge risk by adding unconventional features to a mouse. Some of these features include a hyper scrolling experience to roll your sleeves against large excel files, a proprietary flow technology to transfer files across up to 3 devices, mice tracking on the glass surface and customizable buttons.
Logitech, with this product, hopes to change consumer perception around mice, by adding functionalities as well as enhancing user experience. Interesting strategy, since most brands are coming to terms with the fact that computing will sooner or later, shift to a smartphone or tablet, making it pointless to innovate with 'older' equipment. Seems like Logitech has other plans that are endorsed by Vinci himself!
