ENRG VR Studio headset review: VR The world

ENRG VR Studio headset has built-in headphones.

Virtual Reality headsets have been around throughout 2016, but there wasn’t much you could do with them. There was limited VR content, and the headsets came very expensive from nearly half a lakh rupees to less than Rs 400. But things have changed dramatically, today, if you search for VR video on YouTube you will find seven million or more choices. So, it makes sense, to have a VR headset handy. Soon we are going to get short VR or 360 degree sequences in movies and we can watch them through our phones. We recommend, going for a slightly better set than the sub-Rs 500 basic models, because wearing a headset is not exactly comfortable and a soft, light model costs more.

The VR Studio headset from Delhi-based ENRG is a comfortable fit. Like most models it works with smart phones from 4.7 inches to 6 inches in size, but has a few additional features: In addition to the focus control for the 35 mm lenses, there is a useful control to make fine adjustments so that the lenses adjust to the distance between your eyes and you can enjoy the full 120 degree field of view.

Another feature is that the ear pads are full fledged head phones: There is a small cable that plugs into the audio jack of the phone, to transfer the handset’s audio to the VR headset. You can then use the volume control on the VR headset and also take incoming calls. The ENRG VR Studio is available for Rs 2,990, a 25 per cent discount over the MRP.
