Snapchat is struggling for survival as it's competition with Facebook and Twitter heats up. Although the app has been undoubtedly one of the more popular ones, its user base has unfortunately remained stagnant. Snapchat’s downloads and public mentions have been on a steady decline since it went public in March. The company also had to face declining revenue this year.

Recently, Snapchat had announced that they were planning to make it more user-friendly, with a redesign which is available to a small percentage of users. The redesign also allows users to get more focused 'Discover' feed.

In order to develop its position as just a core mobile app, Snapchat has planned to bring in an option to give its stories a broader sharing ground.

The feature called 'Stories Everywhere' reportedly makes Snapchat stories available across various platforms, as reported by an online tech portal. The feature is in its early stage and Snap has also brought in former News Corp senior vice-president and global head of video Rahul Chopra to head the project.

The company's focus is on increasing user growth and to make the content highly accessible. Moreover, to make the app a more engaging destination for news and other premium videos and content. Snapchat is hoping that wider sharing on other platforms might drive in more people to sign in and download the app on their phone devices.
