Apple TV+ launched in India, details inside

Technology giant Apple Inc. has now finally entered the online content streaming space after months of preparation & buzz around the venture

Technology giant Apple Inc. has now finally entered the online content streaming space after months of preparation and buzz around the new venture. Apple TV+ will be available at a monthly subscription fee of Rs 99 in India hosting movies, TV shows, documentaries, etc.

According to reports, there are subtitles and dubbed content available in over or roughly 40 languages. However, it is still perceived that India-centric content is limited on the platform right now.

Presently users can enjoy a one-week free trial period on the platform, which hosts shows like ‘See’, ‘The Morning Show’, ‘Ghostwriter’, Oprah Winfrey's Book Club, among others which can even be accessed from a host of Apple devices and non-apple ones.

The devices that currently support the platform are iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac and Apple TV on their latest OS versions, Samsung smart TVs, Roku's multiple devices, Amazon’s firestick, LG TVs and Vizio TVs. The last two, however, support Apple’s Airplay 2 instead of the Apple TV+ application that otherwise runs the platform.

Users can further check the exact specifications of an Apple TV+ supporting device, on the Cupertino, California based company’s website. There is another added catch to this. Now incoming owners of a new Apple produced gadget will get a free one year subscription to the service.

Meanwhile, until Apple expands support to a variety of other non-apple products and devices, users can access Apple TV+ content through Mozilla, Firefox and Chrome browsers.
