Mizoram government launches mobile app on COVID-19 data, resources

Updates on the statistics of the state, India and the world will be provided by the app

Aizawl: To facilitate speedy dissemination of authenticated information related to the novel coronavirus, the Mizoram government has launched a comprehensive mobile app containing information and updates on COVID-19.

State Information and Communication Technology (ICT) minister Robert Romawia Royte launched the mCOVID-19 mobile application on Friday.

Royte said the innovative app launched within a short time would help administrators, frontline health workers, volunteers of taskforces at various levels and also decision-makers with the latest information on COVID-19.

Apart from local updates, the application contains national and worldwide statistics on the deadly virus in the Mizo language, Royte said. The app provides information on the status of Mizoram, India and the world, with regard to the number of people quarantined, number of people undergoing treatment, and other important details.

It will also provide resources that provide additional information related to the coronavirus in text and video formats.

The application can be downloaded from mcovid19.mizoram.gov.in.

The state government has also launched a helpline to address the queries of farmers during the nationwide lockdown.

Farmers can reach the state Agriculture department on the phone numbers 0389- 2311160 and 0389 2328564 between 10 am and 2 pm.
