Apple's Surface Pro killer might not launch until 2018
Apple is expected to unveil the new iPad Pro this week, but it seems that the redesigned version of the iMac and MacBook lineups won’t hit the shelves until 2018. The claims were made by a Foxconn employee who took to reddit to reveal Apple’s future plans.
The Foxconn insider also claims that the Cupertino based company won’t be giving its recent device lineup a huge overhaul this year. Apple is expected to be subtle with upgrades, the iMac will see enhanced innards with same design like its predecessor. It is also expected to get new chips and increased RAM.
There are reports, the 2018 model will come with a glass based design and other upgrades under the hood including a glowing Apple logo that was available on the original models.
The Foxconn employee also claims that the company has the same plans for its laptop line-up as well. An 3-ink keyboard is most likely to be seen on the next generation of MacBook, while an external Magic keyboard will be available for purchase separately.
We’ll have to wait for Apple to make an official announcement at its annual World Wide Developer’s Conference, until then we request our users to take this piece of information with a pinch of salt.
