Will WhatsApp stop working on your phone this NY
As we come up to the end of the year, one billion active WhatsApp users might want to double check that they will be able to run the messaging application on their iPhone, Android and Windows Phone systems.
In a blog entry earlier this year, WhatsApp announced that, by the end of 2016, the messenger app will no longer be supported on the following platforms:
BlackBerry OS and BlackBerry 10
Nokia S40
Nokia Symbian S60
Android 2.1 and Android 2.2
Windows Phone 7
iPhone 3GS/iOS 6
WhatsApp Messenger said the platforms would be dropped as: “They don’t offer the kind of capabilities we need to expand our app’s features in the future.”
So what can you do to stop this from happening?
If you use one of these affected mobile devices, we recommend upgrading to a newer Android, iPhone, or Windows Phone before the end of 2016 to continue using WhatsApp.
You can either upgrade, or purchase a new phone. So, for all those hipsters still using old ‘vintage’ iPhones: you might want to buy a new one. Alternatively, see if telegrams or fax are making a comeback.
