Apple will launch three new iPad models this year, says analyst
Apple will be launching three new tablets in the second quarter of 2017, according to a new report by KGI Securities analyst, Ming-Chu Kuo. However, there has been no mention of the iPad mini, leading to speculations about Apple killing off the lineup or an entire model revamp later this year.
The analyst has claimed that the Cupertino giant is planning to launch an updated version of the 12.9-inch iPad Pro, while introducing a new model with a new design featuring narrow bezels. The new 12.9-inch and 10-10.5-inch iPad Pro will be shipped with an Apple A10X SoC – an upgraded version of the Apple A10 SoC found in the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus.
The analyst also states a drop in shipments of around 10 per cent, about 36 million units. The reason, as claimed by Kuo is that the 10-10.5-inch iPad Pro will see an increase in demand from the enterprise demographic, while the 9.7-inch offering should see good demand.
