CES 2018: Nokia's new tech can track your sleep and snoring pattern
While other devices are getting a ‘smart’ makeover, the latest device introduced by Nokia at CES 2018 seems to have redefined the needs of an individual even while sleeping.
Nokia has revamped its earlier health product and come up with a new one named Nokia Sleep. It is an advanced sensor which is built into a mattress pad. The mattress pad is WiFi-connected and it slides under your mattress and is expected to record the users sleep patterns. That data collected gets synced to Nokia’s Health Mate app. The device then analyses the data collected and comes up with a ‘sleep score’. Nokia says the sleep sensor will also track snoring patterns.
The latest device integrates with IFTTT, an automation app, so you can set up triggers tied to your sleep habits. The Health Mate app will also work on Alexa.
Using this, the user will be able to make the lights to go off and experience a dip in temperature post they’ve slept. The mattress pads which were produced in the past have either been very inaccurate or were unable to discriminate between the stages of sleep. But Nokia has said that their latest product is designed to be positioned on the side of the bed so it is able to distinguish one’s movements and more importantly vital signs from the partner’s.
The Nokia Sleep sensor is expected to ship this year and will cost $99.95. ( approximately Rs 6,300)
