Millions of usernames, passwords and email addresses have been stolen from the popular educational platform Edmodo. The confidential database has been nicked by a hacker and is apparently on sale on the dark web.

According to Motherboard, the passwords have been hashed with a robust crypt algorithm and a string of random characters. This means that hackers will have a hard time obtaining user's actual login credentials. It is claimed that not all of the stolen records include a user email address.
