Samsung teases Galaxy S9 camera in new video

The newly released teaser video hints about what we can expect from the Samsung Galaxy S9's camera.

Rumours of Samsung’s 2018 Galaxy S series have been swirling for months and now a fresh report suggests that the camera on the company’s forthcoming Galaxy S9 smartphone will be quite different from that of the S8 and its previous devices. The company has released several videos highlighting different functions of the camera.

"Imagine a camera that can see more than your eyes — one that can help you capture every moment and change the way you experience the world. We didn’t just update the camera. We rethought the entire camera experience." the company wrote on its website.

The newly released teaser video hints about what we can expect from the Samsung Galaxy S9’s camera. The 30-second video dubbed as “The Camera Reimagined” shows us things that are apparently also being reimagined. Here, the word “reimagined” hints that the upcoming Galaxy S9 camera(s) could be much more than just refined and will be entirely different.

Taking that into account, the Samsung's latest flagship S8 already had a quite capable camera so this could be exciting. The upcoming Samsung smartphone might come with better selfies, selfie video quality, flash and low light photography, Snapchat-inspired animation effects (similar to Galaxy S/S8+) and Boomerang-like warp videos.

The other video clips released recently teased the new slow-motion and low-light abilities of the Galaxy S9 camera. The video below showcases speed. Also, don't forget to watch the end part as when the “9” appears, time slows down to a crawl which is apparently a reference to a slow-motion camera.

This video shows high-speed, low-light prowess and also suggests that the S9 could sport iPhone X-inspired "Animoji."

Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy S9 and S9+ on February 25 during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018 trade show in Barcelona.
