Google Street View cars measure air quality in Amsterdam
To measure air quality, Google's Street View cars will be equipped with air sensors.
Google's Street View cars have the prime job of mapping the surroundings for the company's immersive experience.
However, in Amsterdam, the search giant decided to put the cars to an environmental cause - gauging the air quality.
Google said that with Project Air View, information about air quality at the street level can help identify areas where the air quality is poor and help users plan their commute or urban planners design better communities.
To measure air quality, Google's Street View cars will be equipped with air sensors to measure the levels of toxic elements in the air.
Once the data validation and analysis is complete, the insights will be shared with the public.
