Apple follows Amazon; announces plans of setting up campus
The Cupertino tech giant has announced about setting up a new campus, somewhere in US. What is surprising is that only a few months back Amazon had invited cities to submit bids and compete for the privilege of hosting the company's second headquarters.
Apple announced on Wednesday, January 17, about its plans to build a campus, which is a step towards hiring 20,000 new Apple employees over the next five years and the location will be only disclosed later this year. It already has many campuses around the country, which are located around Silicon Valley and a big network of offices in Austin, Texas.
As Apple is known to get tax breaks in exchange for creating jobs; it won't be surprising if Apple's new campus has a special tax status negotiated with state or local governments.
Apple also announced that new campus will initially house ‘technical support for customers.’ All we need to do now is wait for further announcements to get a clearer idea about the location and the tech companies other plans regarding the campus.
