YouTube added free, ad-supported 100 Hollywood movies

The company is reportedly open to having sponsorships or exclusive screenings to show movies through its platform.

YouTube has added around 100 Hollywood titles to its platform, supported with ads. Until now, users were able to purchase movies and TV shows.

However, the new addition includes titles including "Rocky", "Terminator", "Zookeeper", "Agent Cody Banks", and "Legally Blonde", among others, TechCrunch reported. The company is reportedly open to having sponsorships or exclusive screenings to show movies through its platform.

Besides, recently, it was reported that users will be able to finally experience immersive content right on rival Facebook's Oculus Go. It is Facebook's take at an entry-level VR device, is priced at USD 199. With the launch of YouTube VR app for the dedicated device, users will have access to the library of VR content on the web, TechCrunch reported.

Given Oculus Go's user base for gaming is in minority, the introduction of YouTube VR will help it gain more users consuming diverse content including those in native formats such as VR180.
