Google Home's new avatar
Google seems to have given its Home app a facelift and a handful of updates. According to Google, these changes are meant to make it easier for users to browse.
Here are a few ways the updated Google Home app gives users a better browsing experience. The key navigation button has been moved to the bottom, in an attempt to make the app more intuitive or 'closer to the user’s fingers'. Users can recommended content from all their streaming services, making it easy to find the movies, music and shows they want to watch. Users can directly jump into their favorite streaming services to play them. They can even look up content based on the actors, genre or category.
Those using Android can use the app to cast movie trailers for everyone to watch on TV, while still using their phones. Users can even adjust advanced sound settings like bass and treble on Google Assistant-supported speakers, like Google Home.
