Redmi's Note 8 Pro to launch on August 29th

The phone will release with Redmi Note 8.

Redmi announced yesterday that its Note 8 Pro model in the upcoming Note 8 series shall be launching in China on the 29th of August through a post on Chinese social network, Weibo. The highly anticipated phone is expected to sport a Samsung’s 64 MP sensor at the back, rumours of which made waves ever since they first emerged. Yesterday’s announcement confirmed that at least one of the two Note 8 phones will sport the sensor.

Days before the announcement from Redmi, semiconductor company MediaTek confirmed that a new Redmi phone with HelioG90T is in the works. The G90T supports up to 90Hz displays, 10GB RAM, and 64-megapixel primary sensor on a quad camera setup, thus it is possible that the Note 8 Pro could have it. If true, the choice would mark a shift from Redmi’s usual installation of Snapdragon processors.

Leaks so far suggest that the phone will be available in an ocean green colour, and have a finger-print scanner at the back. The phone will be launched at an event with the Redmi Note 8 and perhaps, the RedmiTV as well.
