Scooter gets cooler
Bored of the usual skateboards? If you are looking for something that is a bit faster, then e-scooter is an option to consider. A California-based startup, in an attempt to move beyond electric skateboards, has introduced a new e-scooter called the Glider. The company has retained the M1 electric skateboard, which is known for its high-end technicalities — like a swappable battery, built-in LEDs, and motors built directly into the wheels. The skateboard stands out and is powered by an in-wheel hub motor that puts out 750W of power, giving the scooter a top speed of more than 20 miles per hour. If you are ready to pay for spare batteries then the range is not a problem as each battery lasts long enough to give the scooter about 12 miles of range. The battery can also be easily swapped for a fresh one.
Making it different from the other e-scooters available, the not-so-slim look of Glider is expected to offer a smooth ride, which will also be facilitated with big wheels, a coiled suspension, and an 8.1-inch wide deck. It also folds up and has LED head and tail lights. The company also plans to sell fleets of Glider to businesses, universities, or cities that will, in turn, garner more takers for the e-scooter.
