Every new Aadhar Card app feature you need to know right now
In a bid to make our life simpler, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has released a new app for iOS and Android that allows Aadhar cardholders to download their details using this new app.
The app is a one-stop destination as it includes your Aadhar number, name, date of birth, gender, photograph and address. The developers are stating that everyone should uninstall prior versions of the app and install the new one. UIDAI tweeted, “Uninstall any previously installed versions of the #mAadhaar app from your mobile. Download and install the #NewmAadhaarApp”
With this new app, it negates the need to carry your original Aadhar card with you as the app has everything you need to avail of the Aadhar services. A report by The Indian Express states that this isn’t all that’s possible. Here is a look at some of the unique features the mAadhar app has to offer.
New Aadhar card printed
This is a very useful feature and if you ever happen to misplace or lose your Aadhar card, a new one can be printed using the mAadhar app. After registering with the app, you can look for the ‘Order Aadhar Print’ option which will help you order a new print of the Aadhar card. All you need to do after this is fill out the relevant details, pay the fee and wait for your Aadhar card to come in the mail.
Share Aaddhar details via a QR code
Security is the most important aspect of your Aadhar card and it is especially true when sharing your Aadhar details with others. The new update allows you to share your Aadhar details via a QR code or by using a virtual ID generator for a short amount of time. This feature is located in the My Aadhar section where you have to put in your password to find the ‘Show QR Code’ or Generate VID.
Lock or temporarily unlock your biometrics
In order to safeguard your privacy and disallow people from accessing your Aadhar details, there is an in-built biometric feature. To enable it, all you have to do is just temporarily lock or unlock your biometrics. This is also done through the My Aadhar section.
Authentication history
If you feel that someone has accessed your Aadhar details illegally, you can go into the mAadhar app and head onto the My Aadhar section. In this section, you will find the option to view your authentication history through the new verification screen. This screen will send an OTP to a registered mobile number for the verification process. Over here, you can put in the dates that need to be checked for along with other details.
