Amazon Alexa is making homes extremely 'smart'

The reason for the Alexa obsession' not fading is because it is an open platform which anyone apps or appliances can build into.

Amazon has definitely worked towards making our lives simpler, by keeping all we need a click away. And with the company coming up with own AI technology, the game has been upped to a whole new level; like Amazon Alexa is continuously upgrading itself, it is also open to third parties.

A New York Times report, which was published a few years back, had given a simple strategy which would ensure a hassle-free use of technology.

According to the report, users should go for Apple hardware for their smartphone and PC and choose Google services for email, calendar, and maps and ultimately source digital music, movies, and TV shows from Amazon.

This actually seems to be an easy thing to do as the media one buys form Amazon can play on any platform and Google seems to be simply the best at providing digital services, on which iOS and Android don’t really matter. What makes Apple special is the quality of its phones, tablets, and PCs which have been available. But a new computing platform like Alexa has redefined this calculation a bit.

With Alexa-powered smart home coming into prominence, people are going for appliances which are compatible to this AI device. The sound control as opposed to carrying around a smartphone like a remote makes it really convenient. And thanks to such a ‘smart’ invention, people are now going for ‘Amazonifying’ their homes by buying similar and compatible Amazon products.

The reason for the ‘Alexa obsession’ not fading is because it is an open platform which anyone apps or appliances can build into.

So, can the Indian markets and homes wait to be ‘Alexa smart’? We can only wait for fully ‘smart homes’ to arrive soon.
