Spain’s Ministry of Defence has banned the access of any kind of personal data to all Huawei devices. The news comes from a report by La Informacion.

While access to data has been banned for Huawei, the Ministry hasn’t yet banned the use of Huawei’s devices for customers. Members of the Ministry itself can still use Huawei devices but must use other devices to access the Ministry’s server for any information, including emails.

While a reason was not mentioned officially, we expect suspicion of espionage was at least a major part of the decision, similar to what happened in the US. Huawei has already denied such accusations. The Chinese company has insisted that security was the company’s highest priority. Huawei operates in over 170 countries across the world for 30 years.
