This is why for the past 10 years; people have been queuing up outside Apple stores around the world or being paying up a considerable premium to get the phones before anyone else from the black market. For the iPhone X, that premium has gone to up to astronomical sums — $22,905 in this particular case.

One particular seller on eBay had listed a 256GB iPhone X in the Space Gray trim for a price tag of $20,000. Currently, the bidding has taken the price tag to $22,905, which is around 20 times the price of the actual phone. Packaging should be the same as what is found in a retail store unless the item is handmade or was packaged by the manufacturer in non-retail packaging, such as a unprinted box or plastic bag," as stated on his eBay page. "I will personally hop on a plane and hand deliver the iPhone November 3rd. Just trying to get ahead in life pay off some debt maybe travel a bit who knows," he added.

The iPhone X has already been generating a considerable amount of interest since it was unveiled alongside the iPhone 8. Some have been saying that the iPhone X’s existence has been eating into the iPhone 8’s sales — people were not as interested in the iPhone 8 a month ago as they are currently for the iPhone X.

The iPhone X is a major step forward for the iPhone as a product with its fullscreen display, the new 3D ‘FaceID’ facial recognition sensor and a revamped gesture-based iOS 11 for the phone. Biddings are expected to rise further for the iPhone X as this will be a phone that the wealthy will like to flaunt within a day of its launch — a norm that has been the case with every launch.
