Le Max 2 review: Lyrical gangster
The Le Max 2 is the phone to buy if you’re a music lover
While 2016 has so far been the year of battery-optimised phones and large screen flagships, Le Eco, comes along and adds a whole new dimension to the future of smart phones — enhancing the audio by getting rid of the 3.5mm headphone slot and putting the USB Type C port on double duty — to charge as well as plug in headphones. Le Eco has created a standard for audio called CDLA (Continual Digital Lossless Audio). The Le Max 2 is the first device to come with CDLA in-built. The sound enhancement features are built into the headphones via a custom chip and decoder.
The Le Max 2 comes with a Snapdragon 820 processor and a 5.7 inches screen. With a 21 MP rear and 8 MP front camera, it is available in two variants of 4GB RAM + 32 GB memory (Rs 22,999) and a 6 GB RAM and 64 GB memory (Rs 29,000). These heavy specs are powered by just a 3,100 mAh battery. Le Eco has incorporated a proprietary SuperCharge technology that gives you 2.5 hours of talk time on a 5-minute charge. The new range of Le Eco devices can charge from 5V, 9V as well as 12V chargers.
The Le Max 2 comes come bundled with premium content: one-year membership to the Supertainment Programme that provides access to over 2,000 Bollywood and regional movies, 3,000+ hours of TV shows and 150 live channels.
The Le Max 2 is on sale at Flipkart from June 2. If music is on your mind, the Le Max 2 is a device that will sing its way into your life. We suspect this device will bully other brands with just its specs and superior sound capabilities. A gangster of a phone, indeed!
