Now Android will show battery levels of Bluetooth devices
Google’s Android allows for a lot of new features to be added by third-party developers. Custom ROM developers always come up with idea and features to make Android more intuitive and useful. However, stock Android lacks some of the features that its customised versions have to offer. For example, multi-window multi tasking became a standard feature on Android 7.0 Nougat, but it was originally available on Samsung’s TouchWiz UI a long ago. Another feature inspired from some custom ROMs is about to make its way to stock Android, which could be of great help to audiophiles.
The latest version of Android Open Source Program (AOSP) has been blessed with a Bluetooth battery level indicator on the status bar. Although this feature has been available on some custom ROMs like Xiaomi’s MIUI, stock Android users had to wait for their Bluetooth devices to die before they could understand when to charge their devices, unless that accessory came with its own app. With the addition of this device, one would be able to know about how much charge their Bluetooth speaker or earphone is having at any given point of time.
However, it seems that this idea crept into Google’s mind at a very later stage as the feature is not a part of the final developer preview of Android O. This means that users can expect to see this feature on the mid-life update of Android O.
