LG V30 owners can preview the Android Oreo, but there's a catch

The Oreo beta users will also be able to give their feedback using the same app, which LG will be monitoring ahead of the official rollout.

LG has always been up-to-date with the OS updates for its flagships. But the company disappointed a lot of users by offering its V30 launched in October with Android Nougat — the same OS seen on last year’s V20.

But now V30 users can look forward to an Android 8.0 Oreo update soon. The company is aiming for an official rollout by the end of this year, but only for the users in South Korea, while the US and other countries will get an update shortly after.

While the rest of the world has to wait for the update, users in South Korea can preview the Android Oreo by signing in for the public preview program that launched earlier today.

Users can also register through the Quick Help app by tapping on the LG OS Preview banner. The company has also promised to roll out the update within a month. The Oreo beta users will also be able to give their feedback and review using the same app, which LG will be monitoring ahead of the official rollout.

Unfortunately, other LG flagships like the G6 will miss out on the preview program. LG’s announcement came just after Samsung kicked off its own Android Oreo preview for select Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus customers in the US, South Korea and UK.
