Samsung Galaxy S10 to feature an in-screen fingerprint scanner
With in-screen fingerprint scanner smartphones already hitting the market, we are eagerly anticipating when one of the big smartphone brands will launch their own handsets with this nifty technology. The wait to see which tech giant will launch a smartphone with this feature seems to be laid to rest as a recent report claims that Samsung will implement an in-screen fingerprint scanner in their 2019 flagship device, the Galaxy S10.
As per the report, Samsung has finalised plans to add an in-screen fingerprint scanner in the 2019 flagship, currently dubbed the Galaxy S10. The report notes that an industry insider appears to confirm this information and the said person claims that Samsung has finalised the execution of the fingerprint sensor inside the display. They detail that an ultrasonic display-based fingerprint sensor will be fulfilled by Qualcomm.
This is some really interesting news if Samsung ends up adding a fingerprint sensor in the Galaxy S10 as it will entice consumers to upgrade to their latest offering.
In a related report, Samsung is believed to be launching the Galaxy S10 with a triple camera setup as well. In what is now appearing to be a trend, an analyst that Samsung, which has had a lower-than-expected demand for its latest Galaxy S9 lineup, will consider equipping its next premium phone with triple cameras and a 3-D sensor to reinvigorate its smartphone business.
As of now, these rumours should be taken with a pinch of salt as there are quite a few months before Samsung debuts its next Galaxy S flagship handset.
