Pre-booking for Nokia 5 to start today in India
Nokia marketing partner HMD Global is opening pre-booking window for its second Nokia-branded Android smartphone Nokia 5 in India from tomorrow. The device is an offline exclusive and will be available at a price of Rs 12,899.
The handset was unveiled along with two other Android-powered Nokia smartphones—Nokia 3 and Nokia 6. While the Nokia 3 smartphone has been released in India for Rs 9,499, the Nokia 6 smartphone is scheduled to go on sale from July 14 exclusively through online retailer store Amazon India for Rs 14,999.
Nokia 5 features a 5.2-inch HD display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass, runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 430 processor and Adreno 505 GPU, coupled with 2GB RAM and have 16GB storage option, 3000mAh battery 13MP rear camera, and an 8MP front camera. It will be available in four colours – Matte Black, Silver, Tempered Blue, and Copper.
To recall, Nokia 3 features a 5-inch display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass, powered by MediaTek MTK 6737, coupled with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage, with an option to expand up to 128GB via a microSD card. The front and rear camera have both 8MP sensors. Fuelled by a 2650mAh battery, the phone operates Android 7.0 Nougat. The device will feature four colours—Silver White, Matte Black, Tempered Blue and Copper White.
On the other hand, Nokia 6 features a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080) display, powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 SoC coupled with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage, which can further be expanded via microSD card, a 16MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera.
How they differ?
The Nokia 3 is most affordable of the lot. It offers the same RAM and storage capacity which the Nokia 5 model sports. However, the two do differ in camera capabilities, with Nokia 3 sporting an 8MP sensor and Nokia 5 featuring a 13MP sensor.
Also, the Nokia 3 is powered by a MediaTek MTK 6737, while the Nokia 5 runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 430, which is known to be anytime better than the MediaTek processor. In terms of design, the Nokia 3 sports a polycarbonate body, whereas the Nokia 5 comes with a metal unibody design.
On the other hand, Nokia 6 costs almost Rs 2,000 more than the Nokia 5, but it does offers an extra GB RAM than the other two models.
