Xiaomi Mi A2 camera smaples leak online

Xiaomi's alleged next Android One offering could hit the shelves soon with a pair of capable cameras.

Xiaomi has been on success ride in India for the past couple of years. Their Redmi series of budget smartphones have managed to grab a majority of the market share without compromising on specifications and aesthetics. However, the company ventured into unknown territory with the Mi A1 — a midrange smartphone running Google’s stock Android OS. Selling like a hotcake, consumers have been since then waiting for the Mi A2, which is expected to be its successor. The device has been leaked at several places and the latest one shows a camera sample of the rumoured device.

A sample photo from the alleged Mi A2 surfaced on the MIUI community in Spain. The EXIF data from the file confirms that contrary to the speculations, the Xiaomi Mi A2 indeed exists. The file states that the photo was taken from a device by the name of Mi A2. The data also suggested that the rear camera will have an aperture of f/1.8. No other useful information ahs been derived from the photo as of now.

The Mi A2 is rumoured to be a slightly upgraded version of the Mi 6X midrange smartphone that was launched in China a few month ago. Industry experts have suggested that the only difference between the Mi 6X and Mi A2 will be the operating system — the latter will run a version of stock Android Oreo 8.1. The Mi A2 is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 660 chip paired with up to 6GB of RAM and up to 128GB of storage. Like the Mi A1, the Mi A2 will be a camera centric device as well, sporting an upgraded 20MP+12MP rear camera along with a 20MP front camera. Xiaomi is expected to unveil it soon and could price around Rs 16,000 in the Indian market.
