ASUS Zenfone 6 pricing leaks, it's going to be expensive

The brand's flagship product is scheduled to launch on May 16; however, prices have already been divulged.

Earlier this year, ASUS had announced that the Zenfone 6 will be launching on May 16 and since then leaks of the device have trickled in. Brands, nowadays, while showcasing a smartphone take the opportunity to officially release the device’s price and this is one of the highlighted features of an event. Now, it appears that ASUS’ bubble has been burst with the prices of the Zenfone 6 having been made its way to the Internet.

The Zenfone 6 6GB/128GB version is priced at TWD19,990 (USD 646/EUR 578), while the 8GB/256GB version will cost TWD23,990 (USD 776/EUR 693). The top-end model with 12GB RAM and 512GB storage is priced at TWD29,990 (USD 970/EUR 867). In terms of India pricing, taking the conversion rate into consideration, the 6GB variant will retail for Rs 44,999, the 8GB/256GB model is priced at Rs 53,999 while the 12GB/512GB variant will cost Rs 67,499. Hopefully, these aren’t the prices the handset will retail in on our shores but this should give us a fair idea of the ballpark figure.

Surprisingly, the leaks of the Zenfone 6 haven’t been as vast as say the OnePlus 7 Pro which will be announced two days prior. However, leaked benchmark scores have revealed that it will come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC, a display with a 1080 x 2340 resolution and Android 9 Pie.

ASUS Zenfone 6 teaser

In a build-up to the launch, ASUS has shown off a poster of the Zenfone 6 with it featuring a notchless display. This could easily be interpreted that it will come with a pop-up camera; however, leaks suggest that it could feature a dual-slider design.

The Zenfone 6 has made its way through the FCC revealing a dual rear camera set-up on the rear with the primary sensor said to be a 48MP shooter. The handset is said to come with 18W fast charging; however, the capacity of the battery is yet unavailable.
