Samsung starts work on Galaxy Note 9
The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is the latest and the greatest smartphone from the South Korean manufacturer, but rumours of Samsung’s next flagship have already started flowing in. While Samsung obviously remained tight-lipped on its next flagship offering, a new report from The Investors suggests that Samsung is reportedly working on its next Note series flagship.
The report states that the Galaxy Note 9 is being developed under the codename ‘crown’ and the first prototype might be ready early next year. Samsung is known for giving such codenames that hint the goal of that product. The existing Samsung Galaxy Note 8 was codenamed as ‘Baikal,’ which hinted at the Note 8’s large Infinity Display.
In a previous report, Ming-Chi Kuo said that the Note 9 will be the first smartphone from the company to feature a fingerprint sensor embedded within the display. Previously, the display-integrated fingerprint sensor was speculated to debut on the Note 8. But according to Kuo, Samsung could not incorporate the feature into the Note 8 as the technology wasn't ready for a commercial wide rollout.
