Samsung planning dual camera setup on Galaxy C series smartphone

Reports had stated that the Galaxy Note 8 would be the first Samsung smartphone to feature a dual-lens setup on the back

Few weeks back, images showing a Galaxy S8 prototype with dual-camera setup had surfaced and reports had stated that the Galaxy Note 8 would be the first Samsung smartphone to feature a dual-lens setup on the back.

However, reports from last week have showed that Samsung could equip a smartphone on the Galaxy C series with the flagship feature. Leakster @mmddj_china has revealed the dual-camera smartphone will be the Galaxy C10 and the device will also run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 660 chipset, set to be announced on May 9.

However, SamMobile has just revealed that the SM-C1950/9158 is actually the Galaxy C10 Plus, while the SM-C9100 is the standard model in the lineup. But at this point, it is not clear if the SM-C1950 will actually be marketed under the Galaxy C10 Plus or Pro name.

The Galaxy C10 and C10 Plus should launch next month, and a dual-lens setup on the Plus or Pro model seems probable. Samsung sometimes tests market reaction before equipping flagship smartphones with certain premium features. Similar thing happened with 6GB of RAM capacity and then iris scanner, first featured on the Galaxy Tab Iris for Korea and then the Galaxy Note 7.
