Samsung S9 and S9+ might grab the first batch of Snapdragon 845 chips

The new processor recently made an appearance on the GeekBench4 benchmarks, scoring a 2600+ points on single core.

Samsung had a deal with Qualcomm to supply the first batch of Snapdragon 835 chips for its Galaxy S8 smartphones. Now the new reports claims that the company is in talks for a similar deal for the Snapdragon 845 processors, which is expected to sit at the heart of Samsung’s next flagship—the Galaxy S9.

According to SamMobile, if the deal goes off well, then we might see the first batch of Snapdragon 845 chips exclusively on the Galaxy S9. If this happens, then other smartphone makers will have to wait for another year or delay their flagship’s launch to get the latest chipset onboard.

There isn’t much information about the new processor available right now, but few online reports claim that it will be manufactured using the 10nm Low Power Early (LPE) FinFET process. Other features will include a combination of Cortex A75 cores, Adreno 630 graphics and X20 LTE modem.
