iPhone 8 to be delayed again, expect iPhone 7s/7s Plus in September

We have seen several leaks on the web showing the iPhone 8’s speculated design and a tentative date for the launch of the same. From the leaks, one can assume that the iPhone 8 will be a complicated device to build, especially with its bezel-less display and a 3D ‘FaceID’ facial recognition feature. It seems that Apple is facing difficulties in deciding on the launch date of the iPhone 8 due to design issues.

A report from The Investor claims that Apple is still confused on placing the TouchID fingerprint sensor on the back of the iPhone 8, which completely negates the claims of another report stating Apple to completely give up on the TouchID. Therefore, in keeping with the tradition of launching new iPhones every September, Apple could be releasing the iPhone 7S and the iPhone 7S Plus in September with the iPhone 8 scheduled for a November launch.

The report claims that Apple wants to buy more time for deciding the placement of the fingerprint sensor on the iPhone 8. If they don’t find a practical way to implement the TouchID on the bezel-less iPhone 8, then Apple could resort to the placing the TouchID on the back of the phone, which could be a first for an iPhone. Now all we can do is to wait for the Cupertino giant to unveil the launch dates for the highly-anticipated next generation iPhones.
