Apple to scrap TouchID completely in future: Kuo
FaceID is believed to pave away the TouchID in the near the future.
The iPhone X is touted as the company’s most expensive iPhone launched so far. The smartphone stole the spotlight with its ultra-thin bezel display and FaceID. Talking about the FaceID, Apple claims that it is one of the most advanced biometric verification systems to be present on a smartphone and believes that it might prove to be one of the USPs of all other iPhones in the future. Even popular Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo feels the same.
According to a new report from reliable Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, FaceID might be coming to all future versions of Apple's smartphones. Kuo has predicted that the upcoming iPhone models are likely to ditch the TouchID or fingerprint recognition tech completely.
“We predict all-new 2H18F iPhone models will likely abandon fingerprint recognition. We believe this change will allow all new models to realise a competitive advantage via differentiation, on the back of an integrated user experience of full-screen design and TrueDepth Camera/ Facial recognition/ FaceID/ AR applications,” Kuo quipped.
iPhone X will hit the retail shelves starting November 3. The smartphones come with a price tag of Rs 89,000 clubbed with two storage variants 64GB and 256GB at Rs 1,02,000. At the time of the launch, Apple CEO Tim Cook called iPhone X “the biggest leap forward since the original iPhone.”
