Moto Z Play receives Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS

The last update that the smartphone received was Android 7.0 Nougat back in February.

Lenovo-backed Motorola has officially started rolling out the latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat operating system to its Moto Z Play smartphone. The last update that the device received was the Android 7.0 Nougat, back in February this year.

With the latest update, the device now comes equipped with a revamped notifications shade, along with several other exciting multitasking features and app shortcuts, which essentially enables users to carry out tasks on apps by simply long-pressing on the app’s icon. The latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat update also brings with the monthly security patch. Users can check their ‘Settings’ option in the ‘About Phone’ section for the availability of the latest software update. You simply need to download and install the update, but make sure that your device is fully charged.

The Moto Z Play smartphone was launched in October, 2016. As far as the specifications of the device are concerned, the Moto Z Play features a 5.5-inch QHD AMOLED display with 1,440 x 2,560 pixels resolution and is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC. On the storage front, the handset offers 4GB of RAM along with 64GB of ROM. The device sports a 13MP rear camera with f/1.8 aperture and a 5MP front shooter with f/2.2 aperture and wide-angle lens.
