JioPhone 2 to be available for Rs 2,999 via flashsale
Jio has launched the predecessor of its popular JioPhone at Rs 2,999. The JioPhone 2 will go on sale on August 16 and it will be available via the flash sale starting at 12 pm on the company's website. With the new version of its budget phone, Jio is aiming at fetching 100 million users in a short span.
The JioPhone 2 sports a horizontal display which is contrary to the current trend of vertical screens on smartphones. This is added with a QWERTY type keyboard which, along with other functions, is meant to simplify the ease of typing.
The company will also make WhatsApp available on JioPhone devices soon which will be released in several batches. Apart from the free voice calls, the customers also have access to entertainment options such as JioTV, JioCinema, JioMusic and JioChat. In order to increase the convenience, the company has incorporated voice command feature to make calls, send messages, search the internet, play music, watch videos and operate the applications available on the JioPhone.
Starting 15th August, JioPhone customers using the first version will be able to access Facebook, YouTube and Google Maps on their devices.
