Oppo A83 to launch in India on January 20: specifications, price

Oppo is gearing up to launch its mid-range smartphone OppoA83 in India. The smartphone was originally launched in China in December 2017. The Oppo A83 with focus on Face Unlock feature and smart selfie will launch on January 20. The company confirmed the launch of Oppo A83 smartphone on twitter and tweeted “Prepare to be stunned by the all-new #OPPOA83. Its exceptional features are all set to leave you captivated. Available from 20th January! #CaptureTheRealYou.”

The Oppo A83 comes with features such as an 18:9 aspect ratio display and face unlock. The Oppo A83 will be seen competing with Xiaomi Mi A1, Honor 7X and Samsung Galaxy On Max. The phone will be available in two colour variants - Black and Champagne. The Oppo A83 is expected to be available at a price of Rs 13,990 in India.

The Oppo A83 sports a 5.7-inch display with a resolution of 720x1440 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18:9. The smartphone is powered by an octa-core MediaTek 6763T chipset clocked at 2.5GHz; clubbed with 32GB of storage which is expandable up to 256GB. The Oppo A83 will come with 3GB RAM in India. The handset draws from a 3180mAh battery.

Optics wise, the Oppo A83 sports a 13MP rear camera sensor with LED flash and an 8MP front shooter. As for the connectivity, the A83 includes a 3.5mm headphone jack, facial recognition technology, 4G support, Bluetooth 4.2 and a Micro-USB port. The handset uses facial recognition technology which the claims can unlock the phone within 0.18 seconds.
