HTC's Squeezable' phone U11 set to launch in India today
Taiwan-based consumer electronics company HTC is confirmed to launch its ‘Squeezable’ flagship smartphone HTC U 11 in India today. The smartphone made its debut in HTC’s home market last month, and now is all set to get launched in the Indian market as well at a speculated price of about Rs 50,000.
Price of the handset will be confirmed after an official announcement by the firm.
The smartphone is popularly called out as a “Squeezy” phone as it comes equipped with a pressure-sensitive edge, which triggers the phone’s camera when squeezed on sides.
To recall, HTC gave the U11 the latest Snapdragon 835 processor from Qualcomm along with 4GB of RAM and 64/128GB of onboard storage. Other specs include a 12MP rear camera with autofocus, BSI sensor, optical image stabilisation f/1.7 aperture, and dual LED flash. Shooting modes include HDR Boost, manual, panorama, face detection, hyper-lapse, slow motion, and 4K video. The front-facing camera has a 16MP sensor. HTC selected a 3,000mAh battery that supports Quick Charge 3.0 via the USB-C port. Like the U Ultra, the U11 nixes the 3.5mm headset jack but includes an adapter.
The smartphone also has micro sensors under the side frame to provide intuitive gestures, which is also known as Edge Sense. It also comes with Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa and HTC Sense Companion voice assistant, all residing together.
