Xiaomi Redmi Note 7S 48MP camera beast launched in budget segment
In a follow-up to its extremely successful Redmi Note 7 series of devices that were launched earlier this month, Xiaomi has added a new handset in this series — the Redmi Note 7S. This handset sits just below the Redmi Note 7 Pro and will be available in two configurations — 3GB/32GB and 4GB/64GB. The top-end variant will cost Rs 12,999 while the base variant has been priced at Rs 10,999. The handsets will go on sale from May 23 on Flipkart, Mi.com and Mi Home stores.
Though this is a cost-friendly device, it comes with some interesting specifications which include a 48MP primary sensor on the rear. That’s not all; the handset is also launched in an all-new Ruby Red variant that has the overall look and feel of the Redmi Note 7 Pro.
The Redmi Note 7S is fitted with an octa-core Snapdragon 660 SoC that’s clocked at 2.2GHz and it’s fitted with a 4000mAh battery that has Fast Charge support. The processor is paired with up to 4GB of RAM and a maximum of 64GB onboard storage. This dual-SIM handset runs on MIUI 10 that’s based on Android 9 Pie. The Redmi Note 7S features a 6.3-inch ‘Dot Notch’ display that boasts a 19:5:9 aspect ratio. A feature that is present on the Redmi Note 7 Pro has been brought down to this model as well, which is the inclusion of Corning’s Gorilla Glass 5 that’s present on the front and rear. The handset also has P2i splash-resistant coating making it quite durable.
The rear camera on the Redmi Note 7S features a 48MP sensor with an F/1.8 lens and a secondary 5MP sensor. The handset has features that include PDAF, EIS and AI portrait mode. Up-front, there is a 13MP shooter with support for AI portrait mode and Face Unlock.
