Vivo's in-screen fingerprint scanner smartphone all set to launch on January 24th

Vivo X20 Plus to feature this in-screen fingerprint scanning technology at the bottom of the display.

Vivo showcased its world-first in-screen fingerprint scanner working smartphone at CES this year. The company is set to launch this innovative product on a commercial platform as Vivo X20 Plus. Vivo teased this on their website and the phone is all set to launch January 24th in China.

Vivo X20 Plus will be featuring this in-screen fingerprint scanning technology at the bottom of the display. Synaptics has manufactured this innovative Clear ID 9500 optical under-display fingerprint sensor as promised to the Vivo company last year. This smartphone recently got the certification from TENAA, China.

TENAA's listing has also revealed the specifications of the Vivo X20 Plus. The phone will sport a 6.43-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2160x1080 pixels. The smartphone is equipped with a 2.2GHz octa-core processor and 4GB of RAM. This smartphone will sport dual cameras at the rear, with a 12MP and 5MP sensors, and a 12MP selfie camera sensor.

Coming to the storage, the phone features 128GB of storage, with expansion up to 256GB. The phone is powered by a 3800mAh battery. Connectivity features include Bluetooth, USB support, and the 4G VOLTE. According to the listings, the phone will come in Black Gold, Champagne Gold, Rose Gold, and Matte Black variants.

The phone is set to launch on 24th January 2018 and priced at CNY 3,998 (approximately Rs 39,900).
