OnePlus 6 available via 100+ Croma outlets, starting May 22
OnePlus recently launched its latest flagship smartphone — OnePlus 6 in India. Alongside its availability through e-commerce portal Amazon India, OnePlus pop-up stores, and OnePlus' own website, the handset will also be available for purchase via 112 Croma outlets across the country starting May 22, i.e from today. OnePlus fans can purchase the OnePlus 6 at any Croma store starting Rs 34,999.
"OnePlus 6 is going to be an exciting new addition to the 100+ smartphones that customers can choose from at Croma," said Ritesh Ghosal, Chief Marketing Officer, Croma (Infiniti Retail), in a press statement while announcing the availability of the OnePlus 6. "When it comes to buying electronics, we know the importance of touch, feel & try it's only then that our customers can know of the superlative tangible features of the product so that an informed decision can be made," he added.
Furthermore, customers with SBI debit and credit card, buying OnePlus 6 from Croma stores will get a cashback of Rs 2,000. Apart from this, OnePlus fans can also avail additional everyday cashback offers with Croma’s partners such as Paytm, Standard Chartered, Axis, ICICI and HDFC Bank.
In India, the smartphone comes with a price tag of Rs 34,999 for the 6GB RAM and 64GB storage model. Whereas, Rs 39,999 for the 8GB RAM/128GB storage variant. There is also a Marvel Avengers Limited edition of OnePlus 6 available. The special edition variant comes with Marvel Avengers decals and an Iron Man inspired case. This edition is the only variant equipped with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of onboard storage. It will become available in open sale from Amazon on May 29 with a label of Rs 44,999.
The OnePlus 6 boasts of a 'notched' 6.3-inch Optic AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080x 2280 pixels and an aspect ratio of 19:9. Under the hood, the device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset, accompanied by 8GB/6GB RAM and 64GB/128GB storage. The handset runs on a stock Android inspired OxygenOS 5.1 built on top of Android Oreo 8.1. In addition, users can also install and test the beta version of Android P with the OnePlus 6.
The camera setup includes a 16MP+20MP dual rear cameras with OIS+EIS support and can record videos up to 4K@60fps. Upfront, the handset sports a 16MP sensor that now allows portrait mode — a feature that will be enabled in a future update.
The phone is kept alive by a 3300mAh battery that supports company's own Dash Charging technology. OnePlus claims that the device can deliver a "day's power in half an hour."
The company further claims that the fingerprint sensor can unlock the phone in 0.2 seconds, while the 'Face Unlock' feature claims to do that in 0.4 seconds. Also, the OnePlus 6 is the first flagship from the company to feature daily water resistance: however, the company hasn't mentioned the exact IP certification.
