New iPhones may get faster wireless charging technology
Apple, as always, is in the headlines months before its new products are launched. It is reportedly launching three new iPhone models and they are not too far (expected by September). With the new models, Apple will surely bring some new upgrades and one which is highly likely is support for faster wireless charging.
As we know, wireless chargers are convenient but when it comes to the speed of charging, they are way slower as compared to physically-connected charging facilities. But a recent report published by The China Times state that the newer iPhones will charge faster than ever.
The increased charging speed will be owing to the updated coils. Instead of the currently used FPC (flexible printed coil), the upcoming handsets will consist of copper coil which allegedly boost the charging speed. The charging efficiency is improved due to the less heat being generated but, this also has a shortcoming of acquiring increased area under the hood.
Apple is also expected to bring the AirPower Mat which allows maximum three devices to be charged together. While this is likely to be announced in September, we might see this faster charging feature to be officially launched at the same time. However, there are chances that Apple may just announce it during the launch and make it available later for giving the remaining nip and tuck.
The wired charging technology which we have at our disposal now is extremely quick, undeniably. And, for wireless charging to be similarly fast, it might take long for that development to happen.
