Nokia 6 sales start today: Everything you need to before buying it
The day has come when HMD Global will finally be releasing its third Nokia-branded Android smartphone Nokia 6 to India customers for purchase at Rs 14,999 exclusively via Amazon. The registration window for the device has been open since last month now, while the sales will begin from 12 noon today.
To recall, Nokia 6 features a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080) display, powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 SoC, coupled with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage, which can further be expanded via microSD card, a 16MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera. The phone will come packed with a 3000mAh battery and will operate on Android Nougat OS.
The phone falls in mid-segment smartphone category, but cost a little more than the other two models – Nokia 3 and Nokia 5 – with which it was launched in June for the Indian market. The two handsets are already available for sale in the country at a price of Rs 9,499 and Rs 12,899 respectively.
In terms of their specifications, the Nokia 5 features a 5.3-inch HD display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass, powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 430 processor and Adreno 505 GPU, coupled with 2GB RAM and have 16GB storage option, 13MP rear camera, and an 8MP front camera.
The entry-level Nokia 3 features a 5-inch display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass, powered by MediaTek MTK 6737, coupled with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage. The front and rear camera have both 8MP sensors.
The firm has also announced its latest offering from the Nokia-Android line-up Nokia 8 and is preparing for its release across the globe. The phone has been touted as a ‘bothie’ – capable of shooting using both front and rear camera simultaneously and directly broadcast to live platforms such as Facebook or YouTube. It is expected the phone would come to India a month after its global release in early September—sometime around early October.
