Huawei set to take on Samsung with its own foldable phone.
The Commerce Department, which had effectively halted Huawei's ability to buy American-made parts and components, is considering issuing a temporary general license to prevent the interruption of existing network operations and equipment, a spokeswoman said.
With Xiaomi already setting the stage with their new 5G smartphone, the Mi Mix 3 5G, Huawei is all poised to take on Samsung with their first foldable phone that once launched will be called the Mate X.
