Samsung Galaxy J2 Core Android Go launched

The device is powered by a quad-core Exynos 7570 SoC, paired with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage.

Samsung has launched its first Android Go smartphone — the Galaxy J2 Core in India. Samsung claims that the J2 Core with Android Go brings improved performance to introductory smartphones by offering long-lasting battery life, spacious storage capacity and lightning-quick processing power and performance.

The smartphone features a 5-inch qHD (540x960 pixels) TFT display. It is powered by a quad-core Exynos 7570 SoC, paired with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage, which is expandable via microSD card. It runs on Android 8.1 Oreo (Go edition) and offers a bunch of preloaded features, including Optimised Data Control and Ultra Data Saving.

There is an 8MP rear sensor along with an f/2.2 aperture and a LED Flash module. Upfront, the device bears a 5MP sensor for shooting selfies. The camera app comes with a Beauty Mode that is touted to offer users better portraits and selfies. The handset has 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth v4.2, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS, Micro-USB, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. For security, there isn't any fingerprint sensor neither a face unlock features.

The Samsung Galaxy J2 Core retails at a price of Rs 6,190 and comes in three colour variants — Gold, Blue, and Black colour options. The smartphone will go on sale starting today via all retail stores and the company's own eShop.
