Galaxy Note 8 may pack 3X optical zoom, claims analyst

Previous rumours have suggested that the upcoming smartphone will sport a dual rear camera system.

Earlier this month, Samsung confirmed that the firm will launch its Galaxy Note 8 device on August 23. The company released an official teaser that showcased a massive display accompanied with the firm’s iconic S Pen on their official website. Industry analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo now predicts that the device’s camera will come with support for 3X optical zoom.

Previous rumours have suggested that the upcoming smartphone will sport a dual rear camera system. If this ends up turning out to be true then the Galaxy Note 8 will be Samsung’s first smartphone to come sporting a dual rear camera set-up. According to Ming-Chi Kuo, Note 8 will sport a 12MP wide-angle CIS (CMOS image sensors) coupled with dual photodiode along with a 13MP telephoto CIS with dual 6P technology and 3X zoom.

There are also several reports that state that the Note 8 smartphone might be carried out in two phases. The first one will begin in early September wherein the device will be available in select markets including US, South Korea and UK. This will be followed by the second phase in October with markets such as India in primary focus.
