200 passengers on spanish flight recieve free Samsung Galaxy Note 8
It’s not often that you get freebies on a long haul flight and it's extremely rare to be offered some kind of electronic item as a gift for flying with your favourite airline. However, 162 passengers of an IBERIA airlines flight along with its crew members were in for a shock of their life when Samsung handed out 200 units of the Galaxy Note 8 to them — for free.
The gift package — a part of a PR move — contained a brand new Galaxy Note 8 smartphone — Samsung’s best smartphone offering till date. Tagged along with the box was a message that stated the following — “A year ago, we asked you to turn it off. Today, we welcome you on board.”
It is believed that Samsung handed out 200 units of the Galaxy Note 8 on that flight, including the crew members, as a part of a PR move to strengthen Samsung’s damaged brand image, which was caused by last year’s Note 7 fiasco. If you forgot, the Galaxy Note 7 was reported blowing up for several customers around the world. Later, the company revealed that a faulty battery architecture led to the global mishap, hurting several of its loyal customers. They even rolled out some refurbished models of the unsold Note 7 units by the name of Galaxy Note Fan Edition, which sold out within a short span of time.
Samsung claims that the Galaxy Note 8 has been one of the highest selling Note models they have ever made. It’s also the most premium phone they have offered to the market. The Note 8 comes with narrow-bezel 6.3 Infinity Display, Bixby smart AI, Samsung’s first dual camera setup and some of the most powerful internals along with premium bells and whistles that the Korean tech giant has ever made. If you weren’t on that flight, don’t worry. You can have your own Galaxy Note 8 in India for a price of Rs 74,690.
