HMD Global-backed Nokia is expected to unveil its high-end Nokia 8 smartphone sometime next month. The Finnish technology giant began this year by reviving its classic Nokia 3310 feature phone. At the time of the launch, the feature phone only carried support for 2G connectivity. However, a recent US FCC certification spotting suggests that a 3G variant of the same might be on its way.

HMD Global seems to be working on a 3G-supported Nokia 3310 feature phone, according to an US FCC certification of the phone with model designation TA-1036, spotted by NokiaPowerUser. The certification also further goes on to reveal the 2G/3G bands that the device-in-question will support in US: GSM850: 824.2 MHz - 848.8 MHz, GSM1900: 1850.2 MHz - 1909.8 MHz, WCDMA Band II: 1852.4 MHz - 1907.6 MHz and WCDMA Band V: 826.4 MHz - 846.6 MHz. The information hasn’t been confirmed by the firm as yet. Thus, Nokia’s future moves remain uncertain.

Meanwhile, the company recently introduced a ‘Silver’ colour variant of Nokia 6 smartphone, available via Amazon. The device was introduced in US in three colour variants at first, namely Black, Copper and Blue. The Silver colour variant will begin shipping from August 18.
