Samsung Galaxy Note 8 wins top mark on display front
Samsung on August 23 completely revived its Galaxy Note brand with the announcement of Galaxy Note 8, the biggest mainstream handset ever been launched. The phone with 6.3-inch ‘Infinity Display’ has won an all-time high grade of “Excellent A+” for “the most innovative and high performance”.
The Galaxy Note 8 is known to be the first phablet smartphone to win “Excellent A+” grade from DisplayMate, according Samsung Display.
“The Galaxy Note8 is the most innovative and high performance Smartphone display that we have ever lab tested. So the Galaxy Note 8 becomes the Best Performing Smartphone Display, earning DisplayMate's highest ever A+ grade,” DisplayMate said.
The handset sports a 6.3-inch Galaxy Note 8 Quad HD+ Super AMOLED display with an aspect ration of 18:5:9. Furthermore, the ‘Infinity Display’, Samsung boast about, has eliminated side bezels to give a simple yet immersive design upfront.
“The Galaxy Note 8 is the latest in a new generation of OLED Smartphones that have a Full Screen Display design like the Galaxy S8. It has many major and important state-of-the-art display performance enhancements, features and functions, with mobile OLED display technology now advancing faster than ever," DisplayMate said.
According to DisplayMate, Note 8’s 6.3-inch display is notable for “highest peak display brightness,” “highest screen resolution,” and “lowest screen reflectance.”
The report noted that its 6.3-inch display is 20 per cent larger in screen area than the Galaxy S8 and 14 per cent larger than previous Galaxy Note displays, despite the fact that the size of the phone itself did not increase.
“The Galaxy Note 8's peak brightness is equal to that from a set of 1,240 candles. The performance beats that of the Galaxy S8, which held a comparable figure of 1,020 candles,” Samsung Display said.
