OnePlus 5/5T update smartly saves battery on standby mode
With the flagship OnePlus 6 stealing all the show right now, the OnePlus 5 and 5T aren't left deprived of the necessary care either. The company rolled out the latest Oxygen OS update (version 5.1.4) for the predecessor of its current high-end model which fixes various issues, although it didn't have many.
One prominent and useful feature which has arrived with the OxygenOS 5.1.4 is the Sleep standby optimisation mode. When activated, this functionality automatically deactivates the data connection when the phone stays on standby for a long time (especially at night). This will not only save the juice but also keeps away the annoyance of receiving notifications at night. This feature can be activated in Settings - Battery - Battery Optimisation - Advanced Optimisation - Sleep standby optimisation.
The company has said that the phone monitors the mobile usage timing throughout the day and accordingly sets the activation and deactivation time of the feature on itself.
Other improvements which are the part of the update is the enhanced photo clarity as well as an addition of Group Messaging feature. Moreover, the security patch for the month of July has also been introduced. The update will be received by a few OnePlus 5/5T users initially and gradually it will be made available for all users.
